Before making any definite recommendation
to the Committee on the Governor's application for assistance from the Band under this head, Lord Passfield asked the Governor by telegraph to supply precise estimates of the extra expenditure which the
agreed scnome was now stated to involve, and the
nature of the assistance which he desired to obtain
Irom the Fund.
In the telegram of the 5th of October which has been received in reply from the Governor, it is proposed that the Colonial Government should proceed with the lay-out of the whole Aerodrome, as recommended by the expert referred to acove including buildings for the accommodation of the personnel of the works required for the immediate development of the
Beroirome estimated to cost £350,000, and tha the
Colonial Development fund should contribute £100,000. The Secretary of State is communicating this proposal to the Air Council and is ascertaining whether they would be proparel to endorse the Governor's request.
